Features

  • Closed-loop, not on/offTengu reads coolant temperature and adjusts fan speed to hold it, instead of slamming the fans on at one temperature and off at another.
  • Two outputsRun dual fans on separate outputs, with room for setups that need more than one Golem.
  • Uses the sensor you already haveBuilt around the same coolant temp sensor Holley uses. On a Holley EFI car it's designed to share the existing sensor; everyone else gets one in the box.
  • A/C awareA dedicated input brings the fans up when the A/C is on.
  • Run-on after shutdownKeeps the fans going after you shut off to deal with heat soak. Ships at a sensible preset, adjustable in the app.
  • Built to survive the summerSealed against the heat cycles, vibration and moisture that kill cheaper controllers a couple of seasons in.

About Tengu

The aftermarket fan controller market isn't short on options. It's short on ones that hold up. Cheap sensors drift, connectors corrode, and a controller that worked fine on the bench fails quietly two seasons later under a hood full of heat cycles and vibration.

Tengu is being built around sealing and long-term reliability first, with closed-loop control and app setup on top of that foundation rather than instead of it. The goal is a fan controller you install once and stop thinking about.

In Japanese folklore, the tengu are mountain spirits, often shown with a bird's beak or a long red nose and carrying a feather fan that can raise a gale. The early stories made them dangerous demons who led monks astray. Over the centuries they became guardians of the mountains, and in legend it was a tengu who taught the young Minamoto no Yoshitsune the sword. The fan is the point: a tengu commands the wind. So does this one.
