Puca

Any engine, any tach. A universal RPM signal translator for swaps that were never meant to talk to each other.

In Irish folklore, the púca is a shapeshifter — appearing as a horse, a goat, a hare, whatever form suits the moment. That's the whole idea here: one device that takes the shape of whatever signal an engine puts out and whatever signal a tach expects, and translates cleanly between them.

Swap an LS into a 67 Mustang, drop a Coyote into a Tri-Five, or run any engine whose factory tach signal doesn't match what's sitting in the dash, and you hit the same wall: the source signal and the gauge were designed for completely different platforms, with different pulse patterns, different voltage behavior, and no shared assumptions.

Puca is built to sit in the middle of that mismatch. It accepts a wide range of inputs — coil negative, coil positive, a clean square wave, Holley EFI output, ACES, or an MSD box — and translates to whatever the tach or downstream device actually needs. One input connects at a time; multiple outputs can run simultaneously, so the same translated signal can feed a tach, a shift light, and Wraith all at once.

Where Hob is a focused, lower-cost fix for the specific LS-to-V8-tach mismatch, Puca is the universal case: any source, any destination, for the swaps that don't fit a narrower solution.

We wrote up why these inputs can't be treated as one signal: Why Coil Negative, Coil Positive, and Square Wave Aren't Interchangeable
